would 8" wheels with an offset of 40-45 fit under the rear of my Focus without having to roll the fenders or rubbing the strut?

Just the rear? Are you trying to run staggered? I believe with that higher offset you should be ok but I believe you'd be poking a little. I haven't played with this yet but that's because I'm pretty sure I've already decided what wheels I want to run

I will have coilovers this summer/fall, but will also be adjusting camber and rolling fenders where necessary. I'm alright with poking a little, as long as I don't have to cut my fenders and run flares. Lol.

Edit: yes, slightly staggered. Fronts will be 16x7 and I want the rears to be 16x8

Shouldn't look to bad and you could go decently low on 16's without having to roll too much. I think I'd shit myself if I had to roll my fenders but I have a feeling I might have to

Thanks for the link Ryan. Putting in wheel specs and running a 205/40/16 tire I get the following specs.

Ride height drops 20.5 mm
Rear (16x8) lip moves outward 21.1 mm
Front (16x7) lip moves outward 8.3 mm

The rear will fill the wheel well and give me a flush-ish fitment. Minimal fender roll should be necessary to drop on the coilovers, once the camber is set.

Front won't quite be flush but won't require any fender roll when the coilovers are installed and camber is set. A spacer could always be added if I want a true flush fit. Should also retail full function of steering.

Seems like a win to me.
