The point is its not worth the money to me for all the "show" components with none of the go components. 21k for a car with no power and no space doesn't exactly sound like a good value to me personally. I'm also not that fond of the new Aveo, but again its not my money so it doesn't matter to me if some one else loves it enough to take one home.

The Fiesta ST is a hot hatchback, the Sonic (Aveo everywhere else besides North America) RS is a cold hatch trying to look hot.

I built a similary equipped Focus hatch, and it was $24k+, and has less aftermarket potential than the Sonic RS's 1.4T... Hmm...

I also built a Fiesta to be similar, and it was $19,700, no rear disc brakes, and the motor has basically no aftermarket... (And the interior still isn't as cool as the Sonic RS.)

Hmm...

I said in terms of shopping for a "hot hatch" I'd want the one with more power rather than the one with less. The Fiesta also drove leaps and bounds better than the elder Aveo, and although the newer one is using the power trains from the Cruze.

That was a seperate discussion as compared to my daily driver. The Focus ST was not available at that time, but it still would have cost thousands of dollars more than my car did. I did however also get mine custom ordered on Z-plan with the rebates they were running thanks to my grandfather who recently passed away.

I do enjoy winding it out from time to time, but mostly I just commute to and from work or to get from place to place. I'm not looking to win stop light drag races on a regular basis. Its also annoying that all the aftermarket attention is paid to the ST from the get go when the potential unit sales volume is a mere fraction of what it would be for the standard car.

I'm happy that my old car may still yet live on, but it was very noisy with no catalyst and an incessant drone at 2000 rpm, and it was very loud and annoying at 70 mph and 3000 rpm also.

Of course for 2013 Ford kind of messed with the options packages such that if you want rear disk brakes on a sedan you have to get 17" wheels as part of the 201A package with black leather seats and a bunch of other parts that were available as part of other options packages.
