Hello everyone, my SVT broke :(

Hey everyone....have not been keeping up with the MI thread or any other thread for that matter. My move from Whitmore Lake to Allen Park is almost done with only one more storage unit to empty. Been really busy with the new house and school. I hope to keep up with what is going on and plan on having some fun this coming year.

I have been sort of neglecting the SVT just driving it to school and back and getting ready to park it for the winter but really have no place to put it. Our 2 car garage is stuffed full of house stuff.

This morning on the way to school just before I got on the 94 I noticed that the engine and oil temps were pegged....not good. Also, no heat from the heater. I limped back home and got the Durango to go to school. I will look at the SVT tonight. I didn't smell any thing bad when I parked it and there were no strange noises coming from the engine. I think I dumped my water cause of the no heat thing. I will check it out tonight. Any thoughts as to what I may have broke? Water line, head gasket, radiator??????

Dan!

I did not realize you were moving. What was the reason for the move?

As far as the car i'd assume something had to have cause a leak in your coolant somewhere but I'm not the smartest when it comes to cooling systems

Thermostat stuck close, and it dumped coolant because of heat? Or the housing gave out all at once and just dumped coolant?

Oh I like the thermostat stuck close option.....hopefully I didn't dump all my coolant...

About the move, I kept it on the down low that I lost my employment in 2011 and my house in August....starting over with a new place and hopefully in a few months I will be an employed welder.

Dan the o ring on the bottom of housing could have let go. Notorious on stock housing. I upgraded to the contour one.

Or a hose could have gone.

Defense a coolant leak if all the heat went away.

Or t stat is stuck. If its stuck and its in budget id get a contour housing since.you have to take it off anyways.

I live like 20 min from you depending on traffic less. Lemme know if you want a second eye to look this weekend!

Sorry to hear about that Dan but a new welding job sounds like you'll have quite a bit of fun
