I loved my Blizzaks a lot, I have General Altimax Arcitcs now, and they are awesome for the money. A bit nosier than the Blizzaks, and a bit more of a hindrance on mileage, but they work just as well in the slop. I drove my car all over Summit County, Colorado last winter, and had no issues.

Blizzaks are still my favorite. The SVT was a tank on those tires. The conti winters did well for grip too but the 65 series side wall was so flexy and combined with the lack of sway bar in the front at stock height on the jetta made the whole car feel unstable to me. that also was probably combined with a mental issue from wrecking the black one but w/e.

$75 plus $60 for wrap/SS ties = easy math.

add in a 6 pack of beer and a pizza while your wrapping it and you've hit $150

General Altimax Arctic.

They take a beating, as cheap in comparison with others, and amazing grip. I wouldn't buy another winter tire ever aside from there.

Speaking of, I need 2 more as my fronts were toast.

It depends. I got one for $80, sanded/brushed, grind off heatshield bungs, hi-temp primer/silver/clear, and then titanium wrapped it and used worm clamps.

Total cost: $138 and 2 hours or so. Sold for $225 picked up.

Made a good profit vs. time, I guess. I did this twice lol.
