So basically its about "because a cold air intake looks flashier than my boring stock air box"
Companies with access to flow benchs, sophisticated modeling softwares and other engineering blingy stuff can't out-design a intake that has been designed by COSWORTH.......you know.....one of the best aftermarket part companies in the world? all I'm trying to say is there are far better ways to get your hands dirty working on the car that will still make it better. I'm not knocking you at all. CAI's are fun projects. I've modeled up several different hair brained ideas for a carbon fiber intake for my car. but what it really comes down to is when I only have 3-4 hours to work on the car I'd rather spend those 3-4 hours doing a project that I KNOW 100% will improve my track times, rather than a project that may or may not (and has been proven many times not to) give me faster lap times. This really is an interesting topic and I'm interested in hearing other opinions/point of views because that helps me have a better process for building my car!
