will it keep the car as "flat" as a coil kit? nope, but maximum grip levels will be higher. and if you're after max performance thats what you need.

Step 4.

Know the difference between something that actually makes you faster and something that just makes you "feel" faster.

Theres a reason a bone stock G35 can get around an auto-x track faster than 90% of the highly modified built mustangs that come play.

Stiff suspension is great if you're racing on glass. if the track is bumpy you want something a bit softer that can actually flex and keep the tires on the ground.

Body roll =! slow handling.
Lack of body roll =! good handling.

theres lots more of course but most of it can be found online and I'm sick of typing.


When you are doing research on track builds make sure you're looking at actual racecar builds not just "race inspired" builds.

the guys that actually track their cars seem to have far less money into their cars than track inspired guys......yet they seem to be faster.

1. Tires are a given, even for derps.
2. The SVT Recaro's will do just fine for now.
3&4. Thanks for the input, but I already have a fairly good idea where I'm going with this car's suspension, and I have a venue in which I can run rough / approximate simulations for various setups.
In addition, Grattan is resurfacing their track which means when I take it there, I would like to take advantage of that fact - they also have a tricky downhil twist similar to that at Laguna Seca (but thankfully nowhere near as gnarly) that I'd like to be prepared for, hence my dilemma of spring rates since this car is also a DD.

Ben, I had a SRI, I now have stock box back on. Still don't know why, but the car ran RICH at WOT. We tried a few diff tunes. And no change. Put stock box back on and its reading good now.

As for Orp/hfc. My car is somewhat loud between 2-3300k. I heard words car last night with a hfc and it definitely wasn't as loud. If your going to get exhaust, the only one made that sounds good anymore, is FSwerks stealth exhaust.

SVT03 has it with an Orp.
Word has a Magna flow with HFC I believe. So you could come and hear theirs one day before you decide.

As for chased reinforcement. I've only auto x my car a few times. The only things I want to change is the rear sway and maybe a rear strut bar. The front strut bar did nothing. Basically looks as I got it super uber cheap.
