the SRI absolutely flows worse than the stock box/snorkle. there are dyno graphs that show/prove the car loses power when switching from a stock box to SRI even with a tune. it does sound louder and its only a couple hp loss so if you prefer the noise of the SRI then go for it... but if max power is what you want keep the stock intake and spend the money on something else that will actually gain power...like a HFC or ORP.

Thats the first i'd heard of the SRI causing loss of power. Now in those cases, was the wideband sensor installed, or reg one simply removed?

I agree on the tune and ORP, but I would never buy Tom's tune. FSWERKS is the way to go in regards to tuning.

My guess is a sniffer was shoved in the tail pipe. More accurate than any wideband.
Also a wideband is useless unless calibrated and you are pushing the limits. Its just a light show for most people.

The stock SVT Airbox/Snorkel and the SVT Header at the best zetec intake/header combo. A lot of regular zetec guys will swap the svt intake/snorkel and the header onto their cars.
when I had mine i made the mistake of adding an SRI onto my SVT before I did the research. But since i daily'd the car I rather enjoyed the sound of the intake combined with the exhaust I put on it so i didn't' care. Also never did get a tune either which I'm sure would have been a good idea but w/e at this point. I'm pretty sure unless you went full legit filter in the fender CAI the stock is the best way to go

Stock header is not the best, but very close, the jba/jba knock offs do provide gains, but you really need to have a full bolt on car or more to notice it.

Top Speed was able to get a bit more peak HP from a header too I believe, but they sacrificed more down low, which would suck on a DD.
