you know, I looked I to that and from what I understand it's a major PITA. Cheaper to just trade in the auto for a manual... except that would kind of be a slap in the face to the family member that gave me the car.

I'd much rather spend that money on boost and upgrade the auto tyranny to handle it.

Find a rear ended D23 car and swap the trans and all the other parts (pedals, ecu, wiring etc)

Keep the low miles motor

Pity my old zetec mtx won't work. Did think about this.

I've put in a suspension a few times and done most of the maintenance items like brakes and t-stat housing, etc. on my cars, but I'm not sure I'm able to do a full mtx conversion. Seems like it would be extra hard to do without access to a lift. I've got an engine hoist in my garage, and a good hydraulic jack and stands but no lift.

Like I said, I'll think about it but it seems like the cost for all the parts plus labor is prohibitive. I have to have a budget and mostly what i'd like is to just give the car a little more pick up. Thinking 200whp or so.
