So German Auto Called.

Every Single exhaust valve is mangled........all 6 cylinders. the reason their diagnostics didn't show it was because the 3 they thought were good were actually just smashed shut.

and the valves hit the pistons so hard that the pistons have huge dimples in them..........on my 1.8t jetta I had the same issue except the bmw ones hit very close to the edge.........so Ben said knowing how I drive they cannot recommend that I use the bottom end... the bottom end may be ok but for the price of tearing the bottom end apart they could replace the motor for the same price.....so the car needs a whole new motor.

Now here is where I have the dilema.

The car blue books at $7600 in good.......excellent (which I think the car should be minus the dents) is $8400

I owe just over $5500 on this car; I'm paying $250 per month as a payment

my insurance on the BMW alone is $150 a month

I'd be in the $4000-4500 price range to get the e46 back up and running.

I currently owe G.A.S. $1000 ish for the work done thus far.

Do I:
A. have them find and put in a new/used motor which they would warranty all mechanicals/labor for 30 days?
B. I find a new motor and have them put it in which the place I'd buy from would cover the motor for 30days but not the labor.
C. Cut my losses, Pay G.A.S. the $1000 use the other $3500 I'm not paying to fix the car. pay it down to $2k then part out the car to finish paying it off? parting it out would be relatively easy. I have $2,000 worth of wheels I could sell alone. not mentioning the big sway bar, the sport seats, the sport brakes, sport suspension, mint condition transmission etc.

what makes the most sense?

or........
Option D:

I buy a used motor from car-part.com for about $1300 I pay GAS the $1000 I owe them, take the car home and put in the new motor myself.......which then gives me again no warranty on labor but assuming I can get the same 30day warranty on mechanicals....
