That was exactly my thinking but they said the 500 wouldn't be too much bike and is easy to learn on.

For the record. I can control the power the 600 has.. I can corner no problem. It's literally just needing to get used to how the wind feels at highway speeds and I'll be fine. I just need to ride the highway more often is all.

Edit: also I think I'll be more comfortable once I have a good riding leather jacket...

Deal!

also man up about highway stuff, had to ride my bike home from kzoo which is an hour of highway+ driving. at least then errybody is going the same direction as opposed to streets with traffic going both ways and 16yr olds texting and swerving into your lane.

Also I will totally eat those with you!

The class if fun! I'd definitely recommend taking it to anyone looking to get a bike

Why? in the limited amount of riding I did before my CBR broke the 600 didnt seem like too much bike and it has enough power to not get bored with right away.

I would hit highway speeds in turns marked 25-35mph...

[i]Posted via FF Mobile[/i i would recommend at least 750 for a street bike. 600 if you dont really trust yourself. anything less will begin to feel slow after a short period of time. 750 is a good size, not the fastest out there but it wont disappoint you. although if transportation is your main use then any bike that can easily do freeway speed will be fine

600s are slow? 11 second 1/4 mile, and a top speed around 160? (150ish for older ones.) A 600 is definitely not a starter bike, and 90% of people that own one have no idea how to ride it.

600's aren't slow. I still haven't done much full throttle on mine. I bought a 600 because I know I'll want the power eventually and know I have self control enough to not use what I'm not comfortable with..

Also this seems cheap and fixable for not too much...
