well ya keeping it titled in michigan is good.

SLO is like the random town in BFE of Cali.

plus the state has been cracking down on people who do smog tests so the number of people who's palms can be greased is dwindling.

it's a cool state, SLO is a pretty kick ass town, Poly is an awesome school. don't know how well your credits will transfer though. although if school is free i doubt it matters.

anywho back to testing flex fuel sensors... yay...

assuming free veggie oil (waste from a local restaurant) and if i buy all the chemicals in bulk... (REALLY bulk)

I can make biodiesel for $0.73 a gallon!!!!

add some money for filters (the used oil will need filtering) and i'm still well under $1.50 a gallon.

valid question. depends how many big fuel containers i can take home from work and repurpose... we've got TONS of 55 gallon drums because of the fuel sender guys and all sorts of other neat stuff.

the chemical cost is $0.73/gal, the cost to actually make the stuff depends how good of a deal i can get on containers and such...

diesel is $3.70ish + right now so saving $3/gallon will add up quick.

i'd say i'd have to make 75-100 gallons to at least get my money back for the initial big batch investment, and for me that's 2.5-3 months of fuel.

past that point it'd all be money in my pocket. and if other people would be willing to come get some biodiesel from me (i'd keep the cost REAL low) i can make that money back faster by moving more product through the system.
