i never said i loved all german cars...

but the W123 was a damned classic, and still is... i don't even search by year anymore when i look for W123s... they're pretty much the only thing on craigslist as far as the diesels go.

if mercedes wanted to be really awesome they'd screw the lease and just ship me and wilhelm over so that i could thrash him around the nurburgring in ways a diesel should never be thrashed around a track :D

lol.

i like just about every german car... only a few get loved. :P

also VW, new beetle (not the newest one, the girly one from before) there's a car i'd rather not drive (to think i used to a lot [damn women and their non love of driving])

but otherwise the score is pretty good for ze germans.
plus you can't argue with their engineering, especially on the higher end makes... the fact that pretty much everything on wilhelm still works today is a testament to those crazy kraut eating engineers.

i think payton just has a bad case of MURRICA-itis.

this is ok, i was the same way when deb was running and all that jazz.

Pressing the throttle pedal fully engaged the Roots supercharger,[1] inducing the five litre straight eight engine to produce up to 160 horsepower (120 kW) and making the car capable of over 160 kilometres per hour (100 mph), while consuming fuel at the rate of up to 30 l/100 km (9.4 mpg-imp; 7.8 mpg-US) as it did so.[1][4]

Three different chassis and eight bodies were available for customers;[1][4] the two longer "B" and "C" four seat cabriolet versions rode on a wheelbase of 3,290 mm (129.5 in), and would later be used on other sedan and touring car models.[1] The short "A" chassis, with a 2,980 mm (117.3 in) wheelbase, underpinned the two-seater models: the Motorway Courier, and the 1936 Special Roadster which offered the highest performance.[1][5] All models featured such advanced equipment as safety glass, hydraulic brakes, and a 12-volt electrical system sufficient to bear the load of the electric windscreen wipers, door locks, and indicators.[4]

i just dont likes the fact that the put 50 pounds of plastic on top of the engine so its almost imposible to do any work yourself on new ones stuff.

Pull all engine plastic covers off.. discard... no more problem.... FEEL BETTER!

also one downside to ze germans and modern cars (more annoying that plastic which btw merica does too) is stupid ass torx bits... annoying as shit
