So I'm thinking about creating a basic site for car research, for people purchasing a car, but figured I'd run it past you guys. Basically, you could put in almost any set of criteria, and then it would spit back a list of cars you should consider buying.

These Criteria would include:

KBB Cost
Year
Vehicle Type (Sedan, Wagon, Truck, Crossover, etc.)
Horsepower
Transmission / # of gears
Drive (FWD, RWD, AWD)
Number of People it seats
city mileage
hwy mileage
0-60 times
1/4 mile times
(would be taken based on average of major magazine tests)
towing capacity
skidpad numbers
slalom numbers

Basically anything you could possibly think of. For example, you could run a search saying, I need a 2005 or newer car, that gets at least 24mpg combined, is AWD, comes with a manual trans, and then get the results. (And then re-sort them based on things like hp, acceleration, etc.)

Thats a good idea it'd be nice to pull different information from different websites that are more enthusiast based as well.

another criteria could be NA/FI because I know some people care about that (not me lol fast is fast however it makes the power is fine.)

sounds neat kyle! would probably be a bitch to manage unless you partnered with one of the car magazines and got their data in a pre-organized format.

Yes and no, it would be some work, but all past data is the same, you only have new car data to put in each year, which isn't that many cars. Yes Klod, FI vs NA, there are tons of criteria that we could search on, interior, stereo, all kinds of stuff. Basically like an autodb that's searchable.

Ya, it does sound like a great idea, put Will be a ton of work putting it together.

When I was with GM I had to put together a binder with all of the vehicles GM made and their factory options and it took me like 2 months at 8hrs a day

Right, but I'm not going to make it so you can search on what is in 101a vs 102a, To start it'd be more basic, and expand over time. The idea is it would be geared more towards enthusiasts/car lovers. If it got enough hits to generate ad revenue, then maybe expand it, if not, its just there.
