So after alot of thought, I've come to a decision.
My focus is on it's way out, 3 deer accidents and 2 front end rebuilds. My transmission is on its last leg, but the motor just won't quit. For a few months now Ive been looking for a new car. I've gone from volvo's to mazda's to subaru's to 07-08 foci. I was pretty sold on the protege5. I've driven some before and I like the space of the car, and I like the sportiness and control.
After much deliberation however, I have decided instead of having to pull a loan and have full coverage and have even more bills to pay, I'm going to buy myself a super beater. Meanwhile my focus will be getting an overhaul. Starting with a manual transmission this winter probably. If anyone has transmission suggestions or some input feel free to let me know. I'm going to need alot of help from your experts out there, Chaney, brad, Andrei whoever else.
After the transmission will be a total suspension overhaul. Struts springs bump stops camber arms plates tie rods ball joints and anything else that's rattling or falling apart. I am saving at an alright rate, and have the option to work as many hours and as much overtime as I want so I will start there.
So, what y'all think?
I think if you're going to do it then you should do it right. Take a page from the way you've seen Me, Jeff, Josh upgrade cars. Save a huge wad of cash then buy all your parts at once and upgrade the whole system at the same time. then you can buy matching parts and have a complete setup that works well together.

Set up a time to sit down with me and josh and compare notes over a coffee or beer. we've both done complete suspension overhaul and transmission rebuilds multiple times and can help with what parts were worth it and which parts weren't

also you can look at the spreadsheets we've put together and use them as a template to create your own. once you set out all the parts you want for your build dont stray from that unless there is a good reason.
if you pick stuff as a system stick to that system!

this man... he speaks many truths.

wanna know why deb still isn't finished?? because i didn't do what he's suggesting.

sadly i'm considering getting rid of and/or parting out Deb so i have some relatively new suspension components if you're interested. and lots of interior bits.

not sure if i'm keeping or selling but i figured i'd put it out there.

Guy posted one of these on xceed. Not going to lie, I'd consider rocking one. Trifecta put down 152whp with one, all stock except a 21psi tune. (1.4L turbo) from the sounds of it, 200 crank hp is easily attainable, and 40+ mpg on the highway still...
