so im about to tick 91k. im torn here about timing belt, i mean the car is running great right now, i really dont have much motivation to get the belt replaced i mean it could be perfectly fine. im thinking about just waiting until 100k and getting it inspected at a dealer or something. but, obviously ive been told if the belt breaks well, im effed.

At least remove the plastic timing cover and look at thr belt yourself. It's pretty easy and will give you an idea

I'm in this boat as well. as someone who had to drop huge coin to repair the damage from a broken timing belt I highly suggest replacing it a little early.

putting off a $500-700 maintenance because it may not have to be done yet is ok.......unless your gambling with a repair that will cost $2000+ to remedy should the belt break on you.

also think of it this way...do you expect to have the car another 90-100k miles? I've never owned a car that long personally but you may be different.

if you only plan to have the car another 2-3 years and only drive 20-25k miles a year than your not going to need to replace the timing belt ever again regardless of whether you have it done now or in 3 months when you hit 100k

just my .02

Just ordered new pads/rotors/wear sensors along with superblue fluid and a new steering column bearing.
should get rid of all current issues with BMW and get me back to at least 1 car 100%

Klod, did you over night your package to make 100% sure it was going to be here today? I didn't end up pulling my wheel last night because tired and lazy. Will be pulling off tonight after work. I will make sure to over night ship it back to you when its done. UPS usually delivers around 10 or so, so I'll go check for it shortly

Also 2nd Place in TFS yesterday.. was only like .1 sec behind 1st and I'm mad cuz it was a new camero ss... guy knew how to drive though. I think if I had a real good 3rd run (forgot to turn TC off again lol) then I may have been able to push the 4th run a tad harder. w/e though I had a blast.

hang onto shift boot if you want and I'll just get that back this weekend.
hoping to put all parts back on car friday after work to make trek to your place on saturday.
you down for more karting? I still have k2k group-on to use along with RR passes

I suppose I could go find my tracking number thats in the Jetta for wheel and know for sure but I'll wait till your UPS arrives and then figure it out.

yeah. i mean im hoping to keep the car for a few more years so it would be worth the repair. im just worried about the actual job too because screwing it up can be much worse than leaving the original. al was telling me a lot of dealers cant even do it right. obviously its not an easy job by any means then you know? Im just not sure what to do about actually replacing it too.

Me personally. Would love to go karting again, But the wifey is also supposed to be coming into town as well so I'm not sure if she'll wanna go. I'm already making her less than thrilled by going racing on Sunday. We can bring it up while your there and maybe with Jackie there she won't feel all left out or what have you.
