VW's CPO program adds the 24 mo/24k mile warranty over and above the factory 4/50K bumper to bumper. So you get a total of 6 years and 74K miles from the original in service date of the vehicle.

Not sure if you meant DSG service, but it's a 40K interval. Most dealers quote in the $350ish range for the fluid flush/change. Steves actually quoted me more than Howard Cooper did. The fluid is around $30/liter.

Also, a lot of MKV's DSGs were covered under a massive campaign. My car was covered and the mechatronic unit was replaced. Covered cars have a 10 yr/100K warranty on the DSG. This also required the fluid change, so my car is good till 70K on the fluid. I'd check with Fox's service dept to see if this car had the campaign done on it, and if so, when.

You definitely will not pull the mileage with a R32 that you'd get with a GTI. I'm averaging 27mpg in mine, and I don't baby it. Took it up to Houghton Lake over Memorial Day and I averaged a touch over 30mpg on the trip. This was steady cruising in the 80 mph range.

Just food for thought.

Thats great mileage! right around what I get if I'm going semi easy on the car. I avg'd 29.9mpg on our trip to georgia including all the driving through tail of the dragon.

out of curiosity whats the worst MPG you've gotten in the car? min dips to about 11mpg during autocross

I THINK the EPA rating on the 08 DSG was 23/31? The lowest I've gotten was a bit shy of 22 mpg. This was the first full tankful after going stage 1. I can't gripe about the economy, all things considered.

So I tried to avoid the$ 200 price tag and get a shop force brand floor jack. Hoping that at least it would be good for a while. Turns out I can't even get that under my car. What the hell? I guess im going the expensive route. It it really that much lower? I also worry about the bad reviews on the sears website. It says the universal joint goes bad on that one you showed me klod

I've never had the u-joint go bad on mine. at one point the fluid went a bit low and it was taking 4-5 pumps to raise the car instead of 2.......I walked into the store handed them the jack and they handed me a new one plus some cash because it was on sale that week!

other than that I've never had an issue with mine. Just go into the nearest sears and get whatever jack they have thats the absolute lowest starting height. do you already have coilovers on the car? how is it that low that you can't fit an average jack under the car?

do you have some 2x4's laying around? I'd always drive my car up onto 2x4's first to gain an extra inch or so to be able to fit the jack under my car....but thats when I was front lip 2" off the ground....

Klod,

Was doing more ECU swap research, and I'm not entirely conviced that this swap won't work... Gunna give HS a call
