We almost got a hedgehog lol cool little animals

And I know I shouldn't have one..no vacuum, no throttle plate

Edit: those dogs are awesome! My buddy has one and he's just a giant teddy bear lol if you point your finger at him like a gun and say bang, he goes down slow and plays dead. I die everytime lol

Edit: not an actual "blowoff valve" timmeh. Mix of wastegate, straight pipe, intake and lots o boost. Build it up, let off the gas and you get the "bov" sound. It's loud on this thing
If there's no blow off valve I'm really curious now because that's quite the whoosh noise when u let off the diesel (gas haha). Is there a recirculating bypass valve? I wonder if it's the very beginning of compressor surge and there isn't enough air to make it flutter

I had a chocolate lab since I was 9yrs old. I want another companion but not the hassle of a dog! Hedgies are kinda like dogs In the sense that they bond with their owners. Not to mention, a hog is much more Focus friendly if i wanna take him for a spin.

as the diesel engine spins down it takes in less air, the turbo causes the pressure to continue to rise and the wastegate flies open.

there's is no BOV, also no compressor surge.

Ugghh my head hurts this morning. I got a few customers drunk on some really nice bottles of wine, so in turn, they took me out to the bar and got me drunk. I feel like poopy. Afternoon everyone!

^ what timmeh said.

The wastegate on the 7.3L turbo (FIXED VANE) is opened by exhaustpressure, overcoming spring pressure. With a vacuum assist that doesn't even matter if it's attached. And a BOV on a diesel isn't completely pointless. When you are running high boost, and you let out, that ch ch ch sound that is made as the engine slows down is somewhat hard on it, that is air coming backwards through the intake of the turbo. When you run high boost, then the engine slows rapidly, the engine can no longer take in all that air, and there is no more drive pressure on the turbo forcing it in, then you have excess pressure that has to go some where, which as i said, is going backwards through the turbo, while the turbo is still spinning forward. But these don't have issues with turbos (usually) so it's not really doing much harm from what I've read
