swapped back to stock cat

Took off the FC headers yesterday morning and put the stock header and cat back on so I can pass inspection (no emissions, but they check for a friggen cat as I found out yesterday)...jesus...what a difference!

Didn't think it would really matter too much, but man was I wrong. Low end feels somewhat the same, but the amount of pull fromm 2500 to redline is not quite what it was. Still feels quick, but defintly not the same. I'm half tempted to get on a dyno to see how much of a difference is made.

The only plus side to it is that it's much quieter. Exhaust is now down to a quiet, pretty near stock Db level, intake side can still be heard, but nothing like it was.

I almost like it...

To boot, it causes the revs to hang as well...that sucks. Going to look into getting a cat further back and maybe a different resonator in there also. Currently there's a glasspack quieting things down before the muffler, if things could come down a notch again...that'd be nice....nice and stealthy :)

Need to get a new header anyways...got a crack forming in this one.

Lucky they don't test the idle rpm's in your state.
For WA, it's got to be below I think 900rpm's or your car fails emmissions.

Recently sold a high flow cat off a totaled civic that came in the scrap yard. Civic had some blood on the front dash and open beer bottles, I wonder what happened...
