ok, well I like this thread, so I'll throw a few in that are off my usual genre, but are songs I really admire for the lyrics.

You gotta love Johnny for writing this one, especially that during the time period when he wrote this the more common trend in country music was more along the lines of lynching hippies or anyone who wasn't "right".

Mostly I listen to punk rock, but every time I listen to the DK's "A Commercial" I want to freaking call up Jello and ask him if he's ever even listened to a Skynyrd song or if he's just hating them because they are southern. I can understand the facade behind a Guns for the Greedy MTV telethon, but I don't see how anyone who ever listened to an LS song would get the impression that Ronnie wanted people to run out and buy a "Saturday Night Special". This just goes to prove that hypocrisy is one of the defining characteristics of humanity because Jello accused (rightly) the PMRC of misinterpreting his lyrics to the public in the same way as he did LS in "A Commercial".

Ok, now that I read the lyrics in the rest of the thread, I would surely have my songs skipped for being totally out of place (only after Frush's "Go, Go"- why not "Hey Mickey"? or were you into the Wham version? LOL). This is more appropriate high speed stuff that makes for good driving music.
