What is the better motor to mod

ok as some of u know im going in the army and i got some money to burn.... anyway what is the better motor to mod when it come to the zetec or durtec? Right now i have a 2001 zx3 with the zetec and she is push just under 40k...Now i havent been the nices to the motor or tranny...the tranny i have noticed it shifts hard and it just how it was when i first go it...anyway im thinking after i get out of AIT in feb i will either mod my car with a turbo or buy a ST and mod that out with a turbo what is the better of the two motors and what proof do u have to back it up

Im also think about buying a used evo 8

The Zetec has way more mods available since its been around longer than the Duratec, and supposively the Duratec has weaker connecting rods that limit its max stock boost at 7 PSI. If you have serious money to throw at the engine the Zetec would be the way to go...although between that and an Evo VIII, I'd go with the Evo

Yea, and it would all be spent on the head just to get it to flow like a Duratec.

The engine just looks like it is ready to be modded. For highest potential the EVO is the wway to go for now till more tuning and research is done on the STi.
