Good spot for pressure line?

Looking at swapping from my type s over to a different bov. My type s didn't need the pressure line hooked up for the lower port, but the other bov has a stiffer spring and Ive decided that I want to hook it up on both reguardless to make the bov easier to operate. Wondering where you all would suggest tapping for the pressure line to go? I would prefer to not tap into the turbo itself if there is a way around it, unless that is truely the best option.

...huh? Sorry tom i can usually parse what you are saying. I know you can hook them up with one or two. The one with my kit has both nipples on it for both lines to be hooked up but ive only ever used the top one that needs vac. My other bov that I got from my broken laser has the same hookups but when I put it on my focus with the bottom blocked off it just causes compressor surge or sounds like it (chatter instead of woosh). The 2nd bov feels like it has stiffer springs. I read that if you hook up the bottom nipple to a constant pressure source that it will make opening the valve easier.

Short version: I have my top nipple hooked up to my intake manifold but was curious where I should be hooking up the lower nipple to. I thought the lower was supposed to be a pressure source like from the turbo intake side so that when the bov first opens it is being pushed by the pressure source and pulled by the vac source from the top.


Long version: My laser was hooked up with both lines attached and it worked perfectly on that car but it isnt opening as much on the focus with only 1 line attached. I thought about removing one of the springs in the bov to make the spring pressure similar to the type s but would rather just have it hooked up with both lines if possible. Just seems better to me imo.

Second reason I would like to is that i think my type s might be causing some surge under low pressure situations so I would like to hook up the second line. I am currently getting my main vac source (top nipple) from my intake manifold. Curious where I should put the second line (lower nipple). I figure not from the same source unless im thinking about how it works incorrectly.

Duel BOV hookup , The top line would go to the intake manifold and the bottom would go to the piping , the reason for that is when you let off the throttle the intake goes to Vac but the piping still holds psi and helps to push the BOV open slightly quicker

Its rare to have to hook one up this way , have you tried to adjust the screw on top ?

Yeah I had it as soft as it would go. I was going to just remove one of the springs inside to see if that would help. It was a pretty stiff valve. Noticebly stiffer than my type s, either that or I was gonna swap springs over since they look to be about the same construction.
