Unhappy Bad Shop

Post shops you have had BAD experience with. This list should help us all keep away from bad shops in the North East, whether it was bad customer service or a poor job.

Please format accordingly, feel free to add comments after-

Name:
City/State:
Person:
Website(N/A):

I'll start off-
Name: Direct Tire
City/State: Watertown, MA
Person: Mike, Andrew, Ben
Webiste: http://www.directtire.com

They are very smart and I'm sure they are skilled, but they are lacking in customer service. I booked an alignment because of their cheap prices, knowledge, and specialization with aftermarket cars. They raised the price on me two times, ending up twice as much as the original.

+On the bright side check out their website, it's not some of the best flash programming I have ever seen, but the Learning Center has a lot of useful information.

*update* Just picked up the car to find out my complaint was heard by management and they gave me a "special one time rate" and did it for the original price but did not allow me to use my coupon

I'm new to this Forum and have already had an issue with a vendor

XXtuning

East Hartford CT

Chris Kiewart

I wrote him an e-mail asking how much he would charge for a re-flash of a Xcaliber and he replied 200(!)$ for 1 (one) tune!!!!! When I wrote back to say his price was a little steep and forwarded some other prices, he basically stopped communicating with me....that was almost a week ago and I have yet to get a reply to my e-mails.

What sucks is his business is the ONLY certified SCT tuner in New England that I can find; I've already forwarded my e-mails to SCT and asked them to look into it. I figured that, if that's this guys attitude and he continues to price gouge, than would they want their name attached to his product?

Did you mean to put this in "Good Shop"?? If you make it down there, make sure and do a quick review of them in that thread after

Angry Avoid This "stealership"!!!

Do yourselves a favor and avoid going to Franklin Ford in Franklin MA-If you would like details, please feel free to PM me. Suffice it to say that a BBB complaint has been filed, as well as some inquiries to the Attorney General's office.....

I have two shops for you.

Bristol Dyno.
286 Governor St
East Hartford, CT 06108-2009

The owner is not a certified mechanic and works on cars. Legally he told me he is not allowed to touch cars except to dyno them. But yet I hear a lot of FJ people go there ALL the time to get chip, and tune ups. If he was legal I probably wouldn't have so much of a problem.

Next..
Crowley Ford.
225 New Britain Ave,
Plainville CT 06062

Not only did they fire my husband who was one of their top sales in service, but they always did shitty jobs on the cars. Stephens use to own ford in Bristol, but they got shut down. Gee i wonder why, maybe because they kept my brand new focus for over 6 months and wiped their oil hands on my pillars and headliner, and snapped the clutch cable, and so on.

Well not Crowley got their mechanics and their rep. The prices are outragious but they are the only ones who will do the RECALLS on my Focus Race Car. I have called 2 other dealerships one in Meriden, the other in Berlin and neither one would do a simple recall on a race car.

Anyways... Crowley did a few recalled on my regular focus and broke many parts of her. They did the oil change and recall on my race car. It leaked oil from that point on because they didn't tighten the bolt. They are half ass in their work and the customer service sucks.

I work for the Plainville water dept, and I had to do an inspection their their water service and fire protection. Here's how lazy they are.. the guy looks at me and says, "you know your way around here, you figure it out". Um, yea, do you know the word FINE! I have close connections with the Fire Marshel. hehe.

Anyone esle?.... hum... No, thats all for now. I was very suprised to hear about Dan at XX-Tuning. WOW.
