What is your favorite band of all time?

Like the title says, what is your favorite band or artist of all time and why?

For me, this is very tough to say, as I am sure it is for a lot of you. I would have to say my favorite band of all time would have to be "Rush". Not only do I love their music but the band has 3 of the greatest musicians around.

Geddy Lee plays the Bass like no other, he is phenominal! Plus he can play the bass, keyboard, and sing all at the same time!!

Alex Lifeson is one of the greatest guitarist's af all time IMO. I really think he has been overlooked because of more "main stream" guitarist's over the years and never really got the recognition he deserves.

Neil Peart ...... the name speaks for itself!! The man is the most awesome precussionist I have ever had the privilage of hearing!! If any of you have ever seen Rush in concert, you know exactly what I am talking about. IMO the greatest drummer ever!


OK, so how about you? BTW, please don't turn this in to an argument about who is better at what, that's not my intent, I just want to know your opinions of who you really like and why.

Bruce and the E Street Band fer sure. Because they're the greatest ever, that's all. Seen them only twice, but I loved it both times. I like pretty much every song on every album they've released (with only a few exceptions). I also have a "previously unreleased" CD I love.

Jay, my cousin is such a Rush psycho- he's seen them I think 30 times, and asked the phone company if the last 4 digits for his home phone could be "2112" (and so it is) He agrees with you about Neil Peart too.

^^^ DAMN, 30 TIMES???? Wow, I have only seen the twice. The first time I saw them was on their 1980 world tour and it was freakin' AWESOME!!! ..... AMANDA, you moved my thread!?!?!? .... LOL I know it really should have gone into this forum but I wanted to get it more exposure, curious as to the musical tastes of our fellow Focus Fanatics. LOL :-)

OK, I am curious frush, do you know the name of the original vocalist for Iron Maiden before Bruce Dickenson? Also, the name of the very first I/M album?

I have always loved Iron Maiden and they are one of my all time faves!!! :-) ... in fact, I have their NOTB CD that I listen to quite often and a bunch of other stuff on burnt CD's that grace my audio system!! hehehe
