Head rebuild?

Backstory:

Wife's engine blew, ended up finding a salvage with 100060 miles. Got it swapped in, all is well right now.

My idea for a project was going to be rebuilding the old one (if possible) and have it ready for when this one blows; it's only a matter of time. Last Friday we tore down the old engine and found the damage. The piston hit the dropped valve seat, the connecting rod shattered, a piece flew threw the oil pan and other pieces gouged the cylinder wall. One of these gouges resulted in a crack in the wall. This block is done.

Question:

The issue with this engine was the valve seat dropping... which means this defect is in the head, correct? If I am to rebuild this head, is there anything that can be done (machining, aftermarket valve seats, etc) to prevent this from happening again?

If this is a yes, I want to get this rebuilt and swap it before this happens and ruins another engine.

I would have it swapped out before this one blows or you will have 2 blocks that are toast
