Interesting coz having a winter car is more expensive than running the SVT(it depend how much i spend on wheels). You can send me the price you want for your tires in PM.I will think about it.

If you run dedicated performance summer tires you wouldn't want to drive them even on a little bit of snow. I tried it last year and it was horrible.

^first time with a 1/4" of snow on the ground, i slid off the road and up my front bumper with my stock tires. i learned real quick after that and was fine the rest of the season. we got so much snow that year, i kept a shovel in my hatch in case the snow got higher then my bumper.

Oh, stock tires are okay for driving in winter as long as you are careful and don't drive like a lot of the jerkwad SUV's around Detroit that seem to think that 4wd makes them invincible (and they ride yer ass doing it).

4wd doesn't mean you STOP any better...

But he asked why people would buy winter tires. If you have dedicated summer tires, the first dusting of snow and you might as well have ice skates on your car. I managed to live okay through winter, but my rims got jacked up and I had to drive about 10 mph slower than other people in their stock cars because my rear-end wanted to fishtail every chance it got.

I haven't quite had that problem with mine...the main problem i had that REALLY pissed me off was losing traction halfway up a hill. Trust me..it's not a good feeling getting partway up a hill, then feel the tires start slipping and having to pull off to the side while everyone and their mother passes by you...including mustangs!

Although I'm to blame since i had no idea i had summer tires on my car...I just assumed that the dealership put All Seasons on the car when i had bought it. And we all know what happens when people assume.
