Friend just bought a Suzuki Reno, what you guys think???

My friend just bought a reno two days ago, love the new car smell. It looks like a decent car, interior is alright, dont really like the styling though. Supposly he got a deal b/c his dad owns a suzuki too and he wanted something that he could fit stuff in like his drum set and something that gets good gas milage. I dont know, i guess he got it b/c his dad owns one and they believe they are good cars, but i think he paid too much for a suzuki. After taxes and such it came out to 17grand, which me personally would of not went with a suzuki if i was spending that much, but thats just my opinion, and i just looked at the specs, its got decent power, not alot but it doesnt weight much, but the gas milage is not that good. He said hi 30s for hwy and 30 something for around town, i dont know if he was making that up or the dealer told him that, b/c i looked it up and for an import its not that great, it only gets 22/30 mpg, which is not that good. I dont know, i think he could of did better and got a better car for all that money that he spent, i wish him the best of luck with the car and hope he only has positive things come outta it. So what you guys think about this car. Oh and i dont know how he got a deal, b/c i checked online and built one and he paid exactly what the car costs, which is too much in my opinion lol. What you guys think

Specs: http://www.suzukiauto.com/sr_06/reno...nd_pricing.php

Gallary :http://www.suzukiauto.com/sr_06/reno/gallery/

2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC engine
Horsepower: 127 hp @ 5,600 RPM
Torque: 131 lb-ft. @ 4,000 RPM

Curb Weight 2783

MPG 22/31

The cars got alot of nice standard features and saftey things but i still think he could of got a better all around car, but also hes not as into cars as i am and hes comin from driving vans so 22/31 mpg is way better then he was gettin before.

i saw one at the car show here, and i thought it looked kinda cheaply made... like when i closed the door, i thought something was going to fall off. I've never been a suzuki person either, but if your friend is happy that's all that matters.

It's made in South Korea by Daewoo. Daewoo did the design and engineering too. It's sold as a Chevrolet Optra or Lacetti in most of the world, except the US. A sedan version recently won a World Touring Car race at Brands Hatch, quite an accomplishment for a car with a bow tie.

I'm interested to know why this little motor gets such crappy gas mileage? If I were to (waste) money on a suzuki CAR (as opposed to a Busa) I would certainly hope it would have excellent fuel economy but that's awful! I will buy a Hyundai or a KIA before I even think about buying that Reno. Looks alright though.

i wonder what the "HOLD" button feature does?

You'll like it automatically. All Reno packages are available with optional 4-speed automatic transmission, which come with a sleek-looking gated shifter and 'Hold' mode button.

Car and Driver did a 7 car comparison test which the Reno was involved in. Among other cars was the New Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, and the new Dodge caliber. Car and Driver Resoundingly gave the Suzuki Reno LAST PLACE! LOL heres a linky to read more if you're interested. C&D I feel most of the time gives very unbiased reviews on all cars, if not only a slight tendency to like stupid imports but not much.

Suzuki should stick to bikes...they're awesome at those. They're wasting their money in the car industry.
