I just did this "mod" and the loctite on the bolt made it a son of a bitch but I got it after 5 minutes of fxckin with the bolt. I must say this is for sure a Must Do mod. Its been said multiple times but the car basically shifts itself. Lovin it with the stock shifter but soon to be a short throw. I cant wait.

You'll hate this after awhile, I'm sure...
The best shifter mod is the counter weight removed, BUT with a TWM weighted shift knob...awesome!

Took me about 20 min. Now does the bolt "really" need to go back in, I mean its just a threaded hole for the screw correct? He isn't kidding when he said little room, just get an ext and its pretty smooth sailing. I did it with a small ratchet 13 mm. Thank you very much for this easy little mod

Just got back from a shortish ride, its weird the shifter grabs or / clicks in which is an odd feeling I goround 3rd grr and I have a feeling ill be grinding a little more untill I can adj but def an improvement

This is what I mean...without the weight, the tranny 'tugs' at the shifter in between shifts...I grew to HATE the feeling after awhile.
A weighted knob puts the counter weight right where it belongs...in your hand!

I had to get used to the feeling too.

I wouldn't suggest this mod UNLESS you have a short throw shifter. I have a steeda sts along with the counterweight removal and I like it a lot.
