Long story short I got bored at 3AM...

But I must say I love the way it feels, took it for a drive around town. Crisp, light and pretty much jumps into the next gear (but I must add that bolt was a pain in the arse)... But now I have to get up for work at 10, oh well the lost sleep was totally worth it.

i removed my counter weight, cut off the weight part of the bracket, and smoothed out all edges, re installed the bracket on the tran's, and test drove. i can honestly say it feels more like a sports car. i love how it pops out of and into each gear, and it's allowing me to shift faster. i love it. great modd.

i turned the counter weight into a paper weight.

I did it yesterday because it was nice out here in MI. I LOVE IT! That sticky 1-2 shift is all but gone for the most part so now if I miss second its all me not the linkage haha!! It has so much of a lighter feel to it I deffinatly recommend this mod to every SVT owner. We should gather them all of the counter weight parts and put them in a huge box and send them back to Ford with a note that says "The people from Focus Fanatics would like to return just another one of your pointless parts!"

if you look waaaaaaaay back on the first few pages, i was the first that did the weightless bracket. it IS the best between OEM feel and waay too notchy.

So if you put the wieghtless bracket back on the notchyness goes away or is just reduced because I dont really notice the notch to much. Maybe its just cuz Im happy with how it feels now.

BTW thanks for the O-rings

definetly a nice crisp feel. not to loosie goosie, and not all stock and sticky. good call. did u just remove the weight by punching it out of the bracket??? or did u actually cut the bracket above the plastic sleeve part. i cut the bracket in half pretty much and slapped the no weight at all, light as a feather bracket back on. but all and all, fanatastic modd.

it makes it so first "pops" out of gear on shift, kind of sliiiides into neutral, and then it "pops" into the next gear. on all shifts, every time, almost like a quick pop, pop, BAAAAM, your in the next gear, i drove around for about 5 minuets without the bracket on before i decided to take it back into the shop, cut the bracket, make a paper weight and put the weightless bracket back on. definetly my favorite feel between no bracket and OEM.

if your happy with how it feels without the bracket, cut the bracket just above the white plastic sleeve on the inside slot of the bracket, grind all edges to make its smooth, slap it on and test drive. just to see if you want.

its all about what you like most.
