well now i thing that this friday i will have to try this as well. seems that there are alot of people that have done this and like it so i will give it a try. i would ask if there are any people that have had it off for a long time if it has any ill effect after a really long time of not being on there? just wondering.

Lets see...I started this thread June 21, 2006.
Checking my fuel logs, I see that I was at 37,200 miles.
It's now February 28, 2008 and I'm at 60,500+/- miles.

Counterweight has been stashed in a box gathering dust ever since that first post.

Does neone have a counter weight to sell? The plastic clip in mine broke. Dealer said I'd have to buy a new trans becuz they dont sell the shift tower for it. But I might just take it off since everyones doing it. Would still like to have a good one tho..

Looking at your string, I can't seem to get the beginning of your string. It starts at step 3. Question I have, will this work on the 2000's (w/ MTX75) also?

Thanks

wow, the amount of times that Q has been asked...

this mod will no work on the MTX75 trasmission.
this is why its titled "GETRAG Shift Linkage-Counterweight Removal"
this is also why it is in the SVT Performance chat and not in the Zetec Performance chat.

also, ever since i told many to drill the weight off, i have had absolutely no issues with this mod. 35k and still going

sorry for harshness, but it has been beaten to death.
