I gotta be honest guys, I'm not a big fan... after driving a couple days with the weight out, it's still annoying me... seems like it actually takes more effort to get in and out of gates, and my throws are so short, there isn't any noticeable decrease in effort. Maybe I just like to muscle the thing around, or maybe I'm weird... or maybe something's catching that shouldn't be. But I think I'll be putting mine back in next chance I get. The difference was noticeable, but not in the way I expected... heh.

Maybe it's the shifter too?

I have the Steeda Tri-Ax and I love how this feels without the conterweight.

This + stock shifter chopped down 2.5" + tranny bracket made out of .5" solid steel= better than any VF mount/STS only.
cutting down the stock shifter doesnt do much except make it look like an STS. It doesnt get rid of the linkage. Am I right?

gosh dangit. now i have to kick myself in the pants for posting too early... the thing was just incredibly stiff at first. now, after driving on it for a couple weeks, i'm liking it. chalk up another one for the removal :-D

Had to head out to the garage and pull the sucker off tonight!

Wow! Shifter feels so much lighter and less mushy. It's like the shifter knows which gear to get to next, LOL.

My wife thinks I'm an idiot for driving around the block at midnight.

As others have said, great compliment to the short throw shifter.

I don't see any downside here???

I found this the other day and decided what the heck. So I took it off. I drove it that day and yesterday and didn't like it too much, but the car did shift easier. Today I drilled out the weight and threw that sucker back on. Wow! I likey! Not as notchey. Thanks WD40 for bringing this over. Nice
