“How To”-Getrag Shift Linkage-Counterweight Removal

^ i head the non-svt mtx counterweights are one piece. you have to hacksaw the wieght off.

oh and to this date my linkage has yet to fall off, but it's still to soon to say this mod fixes the problem.

For the record, I would think all this was done by Getrag (adding the weight and physically installing it), so unfortunantly, if you don't like it, I don't think you can blame Ford this time.

I did it last night and I think I will be putting it back on. I think it feel a lot less "fluid".

I did mine last night and since I already had a K&N Typhoon intake, all I had to do was remove the filter and get to the bolt. Took about 10 minutes. The shifting is not fluid per say but I can feel the "notch" when shifting gears. I haven't decided if I like it this way or not. I will give it a few days to see what happens. When I installed my STS, I hated it for the first couple of weeks but now, I can't imagine driving without it. So I am hoping this mod will grow on me as well.

OK, how do you adjust the shifter cable on the Getrag? I just got a new clutch and they didn't know how to adjust it.
