Yes, have you heard good things about this shop? They sounded extremely confident that they would be able to help me. I am having problems with the new PWSC and nothing is going right. I had it professionally installed and as far as I can tell everything was installed correctly. Currently the car is running way too lean...about 17-1 when it should be running 12-1. Also the idle is sticking at 2K and will not idle down for about 20 seconds. The Air inlet valve is saying wide open the whole time.....urg

I am hoping that Fast Specialties will be able to find and correct all these problems.

http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com is where I got the brakes from. This was a little bigger modification than I thought going in. I ordered the 13" rotors to start with but they wouldn't even fit inside my 18" rims so I had to send the fronts back and get the 12" rotors. On the track I noticed a huge difference in braking ability as these brakes react much faster and smoother than the stock brakes. I am probably gaining 5-10 car lengths just in braking at the end of each straight, both front and back at PIR. The main reason I went for this upgrade was because I wanted disc brakes in the back, SSBC was the only place left I could find that made the drum to disk conversion (with 12" slotted rotors).

I had Exhaust Specialties install them but I wouldn't recommend going to them. They didn't have the proper tools to do the modification. You will need a press to take out the old bearings from the old spindle. These then get inserted into the new spindles sent with the kit. The brake lines they sent me were too short so I had to send those back. All-in-All it took about 4 weeks. The end result is fantastic though. Plus they look really cool. I need to figure out how to set up my picture gallary so I can post some more pictures online here.

One other downside to the SSBC brakes I got....very little choices on what kind of brake pads I can buy.

hey nice to see some new folks on the boards... I would have been at this track day, but alas my car is still parked in the garage with the turbo blown. Hopefully in a very short while I will have it up and running.

Fast Specialties is a good place to go as far as I am concerned. I have only had the 68' Mustang dyno'd there when we had a club function and they were offering 3 pulls for $40. I had to jump on it. Ambers husband and the other guys seem to know what they are doing. I am trying to talk my dad into taking the shelby there for tuning because he is running WAY rich.... billowing black cloud rich when pedal is put to the metal.

I have meard good things of torque freaks and HP freaks too. Just my .02

Doug, that's good news that your car is back up to speed.

I don't believe SAACNW has any more track days scheduled for the year, so you may have to branch out to other clubs or other circuits.

Not sure about Jim, but I usually do these track days about once a year- so I'm likely out until next year's event.

-Rob

BTW: did your son get some good photos? Are they online somewhere?

I might take the TC Driver Training on the 30th of August. Jordan (my son) did take some great pictures of turn 12 on the PIR track day. See Below
