Mini Cooper S???

my dad is looking for a new/used daily driver, and we tried out the RX-8 but he didnt really like the comfort factor in it. his head was hitting the roof. so i was like, how about the mini cooper? so we tried it out, and it was a blast. i was shocked at how cool it was.

soooo, how does a Cooper S compare performance wise to an SVT focus? power, handling, and anything else you guys can think of? he already has his "all out performance" car, now he's just looking for a sporty DD.

what do you guys think of the cooper s?

I think a MINI S would make a fine sporty DD. I think it's about on par with the Focus (maybe SVT, I don't remember?) on most aspects. They're nice little cars, although I've never personally driven one. But if he liked it then I'd say it's a good choice.

The Mini S has asesome go kart handling probably better then the SVT's. Speed wise, I don't know. I think it is about a 7.2 to 60, so it might be close to a SVT's. The Mini is an awesome car though.

mini S is a tad bit faster then the svt, but it handles better then the svt, plus you got a s/c under the hood, which actually sounds pretty sweet. Plus its from BMW, so you know you getting some good quality.

resale value is still pretty damn good for those. a 2 year used one would still cost more then a new svt focus. has your dad ever looked into the rs-x type s?

If I had the money I would buy a Mini S today. They are a giant slayer of a car. Al ittle tuneing and they scream. The resale is amazing too. If your dad get's one he won't be displeased with it.

They are great cars. Power is good for a small car and can be bumped up even more with a smaller pulley for the blower. The handle spectacular aswell and like others have said, they hold their value very well also so if down the road he wanted to get rid of it, it will still be worth a decent amount.

It's a great car, and as other's have said, they tend to hold their value extremely well. A blast to drive - very nimble, pretty quick and many mods available for it. I believe they've always received pretty high safety ratings too.

I think when they first came out they had the typical european electrical problems..which I believe by now have been fixed. When I went to test drive the SVT a while back at this private import dealership...the guy sold NOTHING but MINI'S..and ONE SVT....ever. He said the SVT was the closest car he could find to the Mini...but that the Mini was slightly better in every category. I think the cooper S is a fine little car...It may not be MY first choice if I had to choose..but to each his own and if your dad likes it now I think he'll love it when he buys it.
this is bob. bob has bitch tits.
