dissapointment!
Just yeseterday i went to the local 1/4 mile track and my best time was a bit disspointing. I ended up running a best of 15.1, the bad part comes with the 60ft which was a 2.55. If i would have managed to get a 2.2 then i could have hit 14.?? no problem. Is there a certain technique with launching this car that someone can tell me because next time i go i will not settle for a 15. My mods are exhaust, intake, pulley, and diablo predator. I know this car is capable of a 14.7 and that is what i want to get. I would appreciate any techniques or strategies you guys use in launching these cars.

You just have to practice working the clutch on take off find an emptey parking lot were it's safe, or as my high school football coach use to say "PRACTICE PRACTICE AND MORE PRACTICE!!!!!".

in my moms zx2 when i practiced i would bring it up to 4k, hold it, let go of the clutch halfway, gun it and let go of the clutch ...occasionally i get a little wheelhop but the second time i tried it was almost perfect, the tires spun for like half of a second and i took off
i did this cuz my friend told me how to do that

Are you full bolt-ons? Thats a good time on an SVT in itself, but using the rule of thumb that .1s 60' is worth .2s 1/4, you're looking at a mid-high 14s run with a 2.2x launch.

thats still a pretty good time, but yea, try feathering the clutch an throttle untill you get used to where it grabs, bogs, and slips

i have intake, exhaust, pulley, and diablo flash tune. The only thing that is holding me back from hitting the 14's is my 60ft. Once i get the 60ft down then i should be hitting consitant 14's. Most likely around 14.6,14,7,14.8

when i first got my car i wanted to throw a hole bunch of bolt ons real quick. I didn't know that the svt already has the highest flowing header available. So i went on line to look for better headers and i found a pair on ford racing (the jet hot coated header) didn't know i was getting what i already had so i sold them. I guess i better update my profile.
