headers?

Ive been thinking about saving towards the FC 4-2-1 header w/ the cat delete.. but its really pricy.. are there any other headers out there w/ a similar design? because $350 is a little high for a 16yr old like me.. thanks..

They Have the Shorty Headers by FC for like $279- I think they bolt up to the Stock Cat! I have them on my SPI with the Off road Pipe- Great Sound! and a little extra!

bacc's got the ticket. I am running an Escort GT stock header and with a little work you can have a header that will flow well, and remove the cat. Add a slight bend at the end, and you'll bolt right up to the exhaust pipe.

Sorry to resurect this old thread, but I've been looking around and have a question on this topic. At least this way I don't get flamed for not searching.

I need clarification on the difference between the escort gt and Zx2. The escort is just a factory release, high performance version of the zx2, correct? So if i go to a junkyard and pull a header of any escort i should be okay. Does it have to specifically be a gt 2.0 leader, or are all the bolts configurations the same anyways?? I wanna know cause junkyrads are cheap and cool and this sounds like a damn good idea to get a cheaper exhaust setup.

There are a-lot of 1.6 and 1.9 parts that are interchangeable to our SPI. For example, I'm running a 1.9 cam, a 1.6 turbo manifold (soon), a 1.9 Accel coil, on and on.
I am under the impression that most ZX2's are DOHC. If that is the case, the parts are not swappable.
