stock internals are fine. nitrous does not kill engines, timing does. if you go over 50 hp shot, go up in octane to 93+ if you go up to 100 you'll want to address timing issues with a flipchip. I've seen the stock pistons/rods take 12lbs of boost and a 100shot, but i wouldn't recommend it. One thing to think about when getting pistons is,,, a 50 shot is just a 50 shot, but with stock compression it'll net you half a second or so in the 1/4... with raised compression (10.5:1 for example) a 50 shot can net you a full second. buying stock compression forged pistons is a waste of time and money in my opinion. nitrous loves compression. Rods are a great investment to make too at this point, eagle rods are forged and cost about 375. well worth the money if ur gonna split her open. My new nitrous motor is 12:1 compression, should run 13's on the motor at about 200whp, but should run low 12's with a 100 shot. :D

hope this helps, good luck

If you plan to use the 50 shot you will be ok with a stock engine. Provided you have other mods done to increase engine breathing and exhaling.

If you were going to rebuild your motor, forged pistons would be a nice addition. Keeping the CR below 11.0:1 is advisable for the street. 12:1 is just to high for a street engine.

yes, it's turned slowly into a "weekend car" she wont run on less than 96 octane. Group buy on race gas from racing forum, pay about 2.50/gal for 111 to mix. have 3 drums in garage.

it'll be streetable, just not everyone's cup of tea. powerband moves up to 5k-8500 rather than 3500-6k.

i did not suggest anyone to go over 10.5:1. that's a great comp ratio for nitrous in a street car.

If you plan to run only a 50 shot then stock internals will due. Just try and do the majority of the bolt ons so you get the most out of your setup.

Also, go a range down for spark plugs and if you have a chip, you will need to remove it or get a custom burn for it.
