Question abs light wont go off???

when i turn on the car it is off, but after the car warms up the light turns on and stays on. i got to looking and it looks like the owner b4 me had the problem also as the plastic that goes around the wires is missing and was taped up (not the insulation on the wires) could it be the sensor has gone bad?
also the anti-locks sometimes kick on when they shouldn't be, like when the roads are dry and there is no dirt or rocks to be sliding on. i think it might be associated with the light.
any help would be, well helpful!
thanks,
levi

$40 each before discounts.
the fronts are interchangable.
the rears are left/right specific.

problem is finding which one it is. i had a tech break my RF today when he was removing the strut. he'll pay for it of course, but when he hooked up his Snap-On scanner, he couldnt "see" which sensor was bad.
we knew the car would see the bad sensor as soon as we turned it on. also, he knew what sensor it was from the get-go.
