Fuel Problem

On my way to work today after heavy rain and wind, my "check fuel cap light" came on and has stayed on ever since. The fuel cap is on as tight as I can get it. I'm taking it to Ford Saturday morning, as soon as I can, to have it looked at under warranty. Any ideas of cautions of what this may be? Has anyone else had this problem? I suspect it is only a non-sealing fuel cap, however the owner's manual said the computer can take a long time to detect this problem. I suspect this could easily lead to numerous, dangerous other problems if gone unfixed.

You should reset your cars ECU before you take it in to Ford.

Because if you disconnect the battery for like 30 minutes, the ECU has to boot back up and re-read all of the sensors and the focus OBD system has intervals that it takes readings at. Resetting the ECU will probably clear the problem.

I'm taking it in to the dealer tommorow, they're easy to deal with when you know someone so I'm going to get let them check it out. Thanks for the advice, I would follow through but I don't have time to mess with it.
