$400 for a clutch...that sucks ass. Might as well save a little more and get the f2 lightened flywheel that accepts the much cheaper zetec clutch and pressure plate.

Ok....a 400.oo clutch.....I guess I'm gonna take it easy on my 05ZX3 and NOT take it to the track or dump the clutch since it only has 16K on it now. Not sure what the Ford house would say about clutch failure that soon. But sounds like you hada blast and that is what it is all about!

just to clear the air, a 16.2 is very do able. i have ran a 15.795 in my duratec with the bottom half of a mmcai. lol long story. but a 16.2 is very do able, and i htink stock one could run a 15.8, because the bottom half of the intake wasnt giving me much more power.
and for those doubters, i htink i have my time slip laying around here somewere, or you could just ask w-pheonix-rc. he was with me.

but nice runs mn12bird

WEll umm Ford wants 1600 to fix it. but I just ignored that... I can get a Ford OEM clutch kit for a 05 duratec 2.0 for 189.99 Canadian! I have a great shop always has amazing prices.

just go ahead and replace it with a better than stock clutch so you dont have to worry about that later.

If you do some searching here you'll discover Ford knows there is a problem with some of the clutches in the Duratec Foci and they have put out a TSB extending the warranty on the clutch for Duratec Foci to from 12,000 miles to 36,000 miles. If yours fails they will replace it with an upgraded clutch.

CORRECTION / CLARIFICATION: There is a newer TSB (technical service bulliten) for the clutches and people have had them replaced for free after 12,000 miles. BUT, the actual text of the TSB doesn't say 36,000 mile warranty on the clutch. And the clutch must fail due to a bad part problem (delamination, bad master cylinder). If you've just worn out your clutch you could very well be on your own. While this is a YMMV kind of deal it is very well worth looking into before paying to have your clutch replaced.
