12.? 1/8th

I was just messin around on a closed dragstrip with my Ol beeter truck and run about 12. in a 1/8 mile....is that good or bad?

I ran 10.0 1/8 which ended up in a 15.5 quarter if that helps

yea I haven't been at a track for so long I didn't realy know what was good. I guess 12 is just kinda ok but considering the lift kit and 35 inch mudslingers maybee good. I'd like to try it at a track with the lights some time and with the focus

sounds like a realy good time Scott. I've been debating latley how far I want to mod my focus.

How much cash did it take to get a time like that out of your svt?

I've not run it to check the time yet but maybee I can make it to the track before the summer anyway. I expect it'll be quite a bit quicker than the old truck,...I never bought it for speed but was suprised with the time.....

Crane Hi6Di2 Ignition, retard controller, Electronic trigger ($600 for all approximately, and that was heavily discounted from friend, one shot deal, no I can't get you that price)
HIA Xcal2 using 'street' tune NOT a 'nitrous' tune ($279)(having on demand ignition retard is worth every penny I spent on the Crane set-up)
BFG Drag radials ($260 for the pair, Tirerack)
Centerline Billet wheels 12.5lbs (28.00 each, plus $25.00 ea shipping, so total was $106 for the pair) ( I found them at a distributor in California that was discontinuing the series, only had 2 left... research pays off my friends...)


So the total in performance mods is around $2285. I guess at full retail, you'd be looking around $28-2900. It definately pays to look around, find some deals, grab a good deal when you see it, etc.. I figure saving around $500.00 on all that stuff (maybe more) was worth doing some digging

The thing that's nice about going the Nitrous route, is you aren't dumping a bunch of money into one mod (like a supercharger) It's bits and peices, so you can accumulate them when you find a good deal.

Plus for me, being able to turn it off is a great thing, since I really don't need to be punishing the cylinders for 80miles a day driving to and from work.
