THAT is a good question!!! I have been reading a lot of conflicting stories about this store and that store...either the pads are the "same" or they are totally different..including discs.... Very frustrating!
I have read good things about NAPA's middle performance pads.....not really sure...like I said, Im gonna put the shoes on the rear, replace ALL the fluid, bleed it good. If there is any difference I will post it,, I may actually get a "different" set of pads and see if that makes any change...it would be worth the 30 bucks to see..hell I can always return the others since they have a "lifetime" guarantee.. I mean it they dont work properly, they dont work properly....

Mintex AF for a good performance street setup or Porterfield R4S for street, autcross or light lapping. These are the only companies that make matched front and rear pad/shoe sets that I'm aware of.

question about lower control arms is the only difference between the 00-04 and the 05 control arms the ball joint? sorry to revive an old thread... just need a driver side control arm and dont wanna fork out $109 to $196(my ford dealership) and dont really wanna deal with interwebs and waiting if i can just go to a junkyard and pick up an 00-04 control arm and just swap ball joints (i know it involves drilling out the rivets to replace the stock ones but i have a drill lol)

'00-'11 should all be the same except for the ball joint change starting in '05.

Only question I have is why you need the later style ball joint, since your 'what I drive' and signature indicate that you have an '01?

Having a '01, I'd do a '05 spindle swap to get the svt brakes. 10's to 11.8''

I got rid of my black 01 zx3... :-( haven't updated my sig/profile... Now I just got my red 05 zx3. Working on getting it to a better stage in life than it is currently lol. I damaged my driverside control arm, sway bar endlink, and inner tie rod when I slammed into a curb a couple weeks ago. Didn't want to pay the premium for a new control arm for an 05 when i know that the only difference is the ball joints. So I grabbing a pair of used control arms from a guy for 50 bucks and I'm gonna replace the bushings with some poly bushings and get new ball joints that'll work on my 05

I roll woth my factory 16s on svt suspension/ front brakes. They have to be 'walked' over the hub, but if you take the time to go back and forth across all 4 nuts, they will go on. They have to be kicked loose when taking them off.

When I did the svt front swap on my zx3, I bought the whole strut assembly off of a wrecked one. Everything was still attatched, the spring, strut bearing, all the way to the lug nuts. I pulled the 3 strut tower bolts, undid my brakes, tie rod, ball joint, end link, brake line, and axle nut. Pulled the old assembly out and slapped in the new. Both sides done under an hour! 👍
