Big Front Brake Kit Or Svt Brake Swap???
hey fellows,
i am done with the engine, at least for now. we are never done, you know that, i know that, but im done, lol. anyways, i have a bunch of hp and tq for now, I am getting my clutch and torsen installed, what i wanted to do now was to change the crappy zx3 brakes. i just bought some powerslot for a good deal but i dont think im going to keep those for too long. i need to get some stopping power, u know? i can there fast but can stop fast??? i've been thinking bout the svt brake swap for bout $800 because it gets rid of the rear drum, which i hate. but i do like the idea of a big brake kit on the front as well. which is better in your opinion and why? bang for buck? and performance wise, specially??? is it better to have some big ass brake on front and drums in the back? or have all four disc wih equal stopping power as the svt does??? thanks for all you help and make sure to answer the poll!!! i found these for big brake kit option TCE = http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com/ BAT = http://www.batinc.net/ BAER = http://www.baer.com/ FOCUS CENTRAL= http://www.focus-central.com/main.asp SSBC= http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/ BRAKE MAN http://www.thebrakeman.com/ and then of course there is the svt swap that i found for $800 + $120 s/h

Bang for the buck, hands down the SVT kit. The SVT kit is cheaper overall, but maybe not the best stopping power because of the turbo. I would most likely say go with the TCE or Baer from your choices. I think the Brembo GT kit might be better for the front IMO and only cost $1495 from Steeda but requires the SVT front knuckles.

yes the brembo does seem outta hand expensive, right?
and yes i forgot to mention, i have a turbo on 12-14lbs pushing bout 246/231, this is what i need to stop!!!! kinda why i want to do the brakes at this point. good point bout hte brembo, i didnt know tey required front sct knuckles. so u think a big brake kit will stop better then the svt??? but the svt is cheaper

well I'll let you know in a week,
I'm installing the SVT kit with SS lines and hopefully some hawk hps pads so I'll let you know but from what everyone knows about the svt foci braking ability with SS lines and good pads, it should be enough i would think

go with the bat kit.....i installed it myself and love it. i actually had zero brake experience before hand, and the kit is very good, easy to understand and install (well, maybe moderate)

SVT all the way. It works, its not overkill, and replacement parts are easy to find.
