How to? Inner Tie Rod
Ok here it goes... I got into a little crash, and the Inner Tie Rod got bent. I already took out the Outer Tie rod from it, but i Don't know how to take out the inner part of the inner tie rod, it is on the left side.... Any one Knows???? I already kind of took out the boot, but i don't see anything.... :(
If u know how to do it PLEASE LMK.... I'm adding a diagram of what i'm talking about... It may help out.....

Dude.. buy a new Rack. I'm not 100% on this since I haven't bought one for a Focus before, but Ford basically uses the same rack design for everything. Our rack was most likely sported underneath Escorts and ZX2's for years. It should be less than $100 after the core. I think my Aerostar had an outrageous core charge like $120, but the part only cost $60.
You'll need an alignment too, you can get it close enough to make it to a shop by marking where the old outer tie rod sat on both sides and making sure your steering wheel is centered. If it shakes too bad to drive in the neighborhood, purchase a 10' stick of uni-strut (in electrical at HD or Lowes), lay it against the rear wheel and note the angle of deflection on the front to give you an idea of which way to line the front up.

FYI: Racks are rebuilt on a machine that lines up and presses the inner rods in. At least GM racks are, and I assume Fords are not that much different. I had a chance to visit a machine company where the machine to mass produce racks had just been put together.
