lentec tranny upgrades and a big fat turbo(or supercharger) is the only way you'll see good numbers with the focus auto tranny. It robs power big time and it breaks under 150lb/ft or torque or more

I agree with you that the stock atx cant take too much toque with nitrous or forced induction and needs to be modified to take it(a modified valve body and torque converter would suffice IMO)
But I completely disagree with you when you imply that the auto tranny isnt good for 1/4 runs. In fact i think its far superior to a manual transmission for bracket racing.
A built automatic does not miss shifts, it shifts consistently all the time giving you more consistant 1/4 times and a built auto tranny will shift far faster than any human can ever dream. Thats out of the book....
About robbing lots of power, yes I agree a manual robs less power than an auto, but I highly doubt it is as high as you say, I have even heard some people suggest 20% more power train loss than a manual, that is absolutly ridiculous.
If you follow drag racing you see alot of the pros choose the auto OVER the manual for its superior benifits in bracket racing. For chevy applications the powerglide and th-350 are far more popular than there manual counterparts.
When I bought a car i didnt care what tranny i got manual or auto, they are both nice to me but I dont enjoy people telling me my auto is a weak link when it isnt.

in stock form with the exception of bracket racing the auto tranny in the foci is the weak link. when built up it is good but in stock form it is a weak link

Incorrect. Reaction time does not effect trap time.

I have a few bracket racing trophies and I'm a 5 speed.

I will agree though, autos make it MUCH easier to bracket race.

Get a better valve body and a more aggressive torque converter and you will do MUCH better.
