Spy Shots of 2007 Focus . . . Ford still too dumb to bring the Euro

Not wanting to be redundant in case this has been covered already, but the Ford Website now lists the 2007 Focus for sale. No new front end; nothing new but a couple of colors and interior changes.

oh i like those colors! (for the zx3) in person, that might be another story... but i kinda dig that green and def like the dark red of course.

for the 2/4 doors.. i don't know. i'm just a zx3 girl... ;)

on the upside the new ST's are starting to look like they've got some balls, too bad it takes a couple grand to make the looks match the engine output

I don't think you guys get the whole NA/Euro Focus issues. It all comes down to economics. You've gotta realize that in Europe, a call like the Focus is considered premium, given the generally smaller size of cars in that market, the Focus is considered a family car. Now here in North America - especially in the USA, people want BIG cars.

The Focus to the North American market is an entry level compact car and that's it. It would not make sense to bring over the Euro Focus as the cost of the vehicle would be too high in this market. Now, take a look at the pricing between the Focus and the Fusion....you will see that they actually are very close and can in fact overlap. BUT the Fusion is a larger car made to appeal to the North American {read USA} customer base.

Canada on the other hand has a higher number of premium small cars. As a Country we tend to prefer them. We are in fact more Euro oriented than our US Neighbours in that regard. I paid nearly $26,000 for my 2003 ZX5 here in Canada. What would that coin get you in the US?

Ford has a lot of things to consider for the NA market, and that is way they haven't brought the new platform to NA - nor will they any time soon. Sorry guys, that's just the facts of the market conditions here in North America. Once American's get over their love of huge sedans, and SUV's in favour of smaller cars, then a premium compact could have a chance. Otherwise, get used to getting the short end of the stick in the Focus arena.

that is absurd...i can't believe ford is going to go another year without any sort of advancement! I understand the focus is a hot seller as is..but eventually there are going to be too many damn straight up LX model foci on the streets and their sales are going to drop! They need to be less conservative....look at that FWD Mitsu Monster eclipse GT with the V6...that car is neither good looking (imo) NOR economical but they still sell it here! Ford needs to grow a pair...cause right now it seems like they're neutered w/out the SVT in the lineup! And I KNOW my practically stock ZX3 can keep up with an ST no problem! ^^^changes just do not hapen that fast in the auto world.. Fit was planned for 3 years before it made it... Ford was oblivious to the Focus untill last year... it needs one or 2 more years to deliver...

I rather wait a couple more years than have a half baked redesign.

Oh and Ford is making changes to the Focus... although very minor.. new options in the interior, such as dual tone leather and upgraded interior package.. the suspension was improved etc..

if you want the european model, take a trip down to mexico. it's currently selling down south past the border.
