Need help

Im still pretty new to this site, but I need help, I ve got a 2000 zx3, 71k miles atx, minor work, intake, i took care of the fuel pump recall, new oem plugs and wires. My problem is that with such high milage I am limited as to how and what I can do to the car, my dream finished product is a forging the internals 700$ and the head/ vaulvetrain1100$ cooled supercharger ( I run scca locally and would prefer a eaton over a turbo anyday) 3500$ and custom tuning software 300$ and mabey a shot of nitrous, to get it down the quarter quicker since the max ill see out of the sc is about 12 pnds, The problem is the atx I want to build, I have no idea if a torque conv, and input shaft is enought, if there is any need to upgrade the valuve body or if i just need to build the whole damn thing, i basically plan for this to be streetable if not dailey driven and really need help with this tranny, what do i need to buld to be able to start on the other mods im wanting, because none of them are anygood without a tranny that will be reliable, thanks hopefully i dont five millino people telling its a pipe dream and im a moron, but well see lol

Honestly, from the experience I've seen on here, high mileage cars are not worth modding and it's almost always recommended to buy a new car and go from there. As well, most people sell their ATX and buy an MTX when they get serious about modding and from the sounds of your plans, I'd consider that serious.

In all honestly, if I were you, get a new car and mod that and don't waste your money on a car that is already 6-7 years old, especially that much cash. Put it to better use in a new ride. That's my opinion anyway. I don't know much about the ATX tranny and upgrades so I can't answer that for you, sorry about that.

A lentech tranny will hold over 400whp....just ask Tom of Focus-Power. It will set you back a bunch though. If you are rebuilding the motor, and going with a new head, it won't be a high miler anymore....You will need either a manual valve body or Lentech's little tricky electronic manual control switch for autox...otherwise, the ecu will override the aggressive downshifts needed going into hard corners...and comming out.

You should definatly look into a Lentech tranny. Or even better do a tranny swap for an MTX-75.

High mileage cars are not useless. you just need to be easier on the engine if you are not going to refresh the internals. i have 98.5k and i still blow honda's away! once the internals are done, your dream is well on the way.

GO for IT! I don't want to have the only relic lol

$11,000 will go a long way in a focus. for a 2000 model, that is pretty low miles
