Anyone in their 50s on here? Anyone think the focus is the 21st century version of the Maverick? Anyone on here remember the Maverick? My wife's first car (although I helped pay for it after we were married) She paid $1800 for it new in 1971 :)

I'm 57 and sure I remembered the Maverick. Your wife got a deal, I think they stickered for $1,999.

Was the Pinto and Maverick sold side by side? The focus would be the Pinto, the maverick would be the fusion, the taurus a fairlane, the crown vick the LTD.

We need an old timer's thread! Then we could have a beer if we wanted- we wouldn't have to worry about if there are kids around.

I am the oldest one here I think. I am 60. I had a 1974 maverick. Decent, but ordinary car. My focus seems like a sports car to me......i have a cai which upped the horses quite a bit. It is very fun to drive....fast and good handling. Nothing like the roar of that cai. Make that your first mod.
