Angry 30,000 Mile Service Then Wtf....

Ok:

So I just got the 30,000 service done 3 days ago, and today the car turns off and now the battery light is on all the time.

Im going to take the car on monday and see because this did not happened before I took it into service. The battery color sensor appears to be black so i dont know if it is the battery. The car still under factory warranty, but probably will not be covered if is the battery. Still It was not doing this until I took it into service.

So will see.

That justs make me ANGRY!!!!!

Battery light means something isn't right with the charging system. Could mean the battery or it could be the Alternator. Ford is going to test it and tell ya that you owe the X amount of $$$$'s to fix the problem. The battery and the Alternator are NOT covered under warranty

they probably left the key on the 'on' postition, or 'acc' position while doing the work, drained the battery down, and then just jumped it off once they realized it was dead. Sound far-fetched? Not really, I've seen it done.

Most service depts leave the key in the ignition while servicing the car, so accidently leaving it on happens pretty often... You'll probably never get them to admit it though...

Got my car back yesterday. The diagnosis was a bad alternator. Per the description on the work order, it stated that it was pulling under 40 amps and needed to be replaced, which they did since the car is still under warranty.

I got my baby back. Im happy!!

Why wouldn't the alternator be covered by the warranty?

Most dealerships will say that you had a system or you abused the alternator by going Wide Open Throttle a lot, or if you have a Under Drive Pulley. They'll come up with 1,000 excuses to why it's failed. I've seen it and have been a part of it. You might also have a really cool dealership as too. The ones in my area are complete aholes. So that's what i meant when i said consider yourself lucky.
