G2G @ Dragway 42 (OHIO)

Hey everybody!

Spring is right around the corner and you know what that means, racing season!!! Sitting in the house all winter sure does drag on the mind, wishing you could be out running your Focus. Well what better way then to have a g2g at a drag strip. It combines the best of both worlds, foci and racing

Anyway, I'd like to see if there would be interest in having a g2g at Dragway 42, I'm thinking May would be a good month to have it.

According to the schedule, Fridays and Tuesdays are test and tune/grudge race nights. I don't know if anyone has ever done the grudge races, but thats fun as hell. Basicaly you go up and tell them who you wanna race, and they call you out over the loudspeaker.

The gates open at 5:30 on Tuesday and Friday and it runs till 11:00 pm, so thats plenty of time to get some decent runs in. There was a Saturday Street race for the 20th of May, I am unsure as to what it is at this point, so later in the day I'm gonna give the track a call to see what thats all about. The cost is $10 dollars to run on Tues or Fri, and $5 to spectate on Tues, $10 to spectate on Fri.

So post up if you are interested. All suggestions are welcome

Here's the link to the track: Dragway 42

Here's the Mapquest link for directions: Mapquest

^^^I knew you'd be in.

BTW, the belt doesn't slip anymore on the hatch, I took her for a run last night. I hit 13 psi before I bounced off the rev limiter, and boost starts at 2,000rpms I'm commin' for ya! She's so freakin fast dude, you're gonna have to drive her, you'll be pleasently suprised.

It was more like a ooops... rev limiter, not like brinng a ding ding ding ding ding ding, just a oh crap time to shift. Kinda hard to watch a tach, boost guage, and keep the car pointing straight in the dark on a back country road.

And you won't charge me for work if you want that false floor put in your car

i could always go and watch. i don't think an auto focus would be much fun to watch run a 20 sec 1/4 lol.

HEY I DON'T HAVE THAT PLASTIC THING ON MY CAR!!!?!!?!?!

that'd be cool though. I think you'd be surprised with the new complete exhaust and SCT Tune. I'd imagine you're somewhere around my territory, but there's only 1 way to find out i'm game if i'm not on call. It's only about 30-40 minutes away from me and you get a hell of a lot more runs in there than at Norwalk, even though Norwalk seems to be a nicer track. Hopefully the beginning of the season doesn't have that many people show up, so we can get some decent runs in. I can bring my camera and take some pics and vids of you guys and me going down the track. Last time i ran there, it wasn't sooo good so i can take pointers from other guys and see what i should do.
