did a little painting :)

I had a lot of spare time this weekend so I got some paint and had fun. I didn't do much painting to the interior other than the vents. I made them silver. I don't plan to paint anymore pieces because I don't think it would look too good.

Since I already had a blue strut bar and blue intake, I decided to paint some engine pieces in blue. I painted the battery cover, fuse box lid, coolant cover, and the washer fluid cap. To match my throttle body, I painted the tb cover silver as well as the oil cap.

BEAUTIFUL engine bay... I mean.. SERIOUSLY. That's the color I am going to sue for my Bay as well.

IMHO, I would have painted your interior pieces a different color.. the silver seems to blend too much into the grey... but it might be the pictures.

What type of paint is that? I like it alot and it looks like it might match my sonic blue.

I used the Duplicolor brand. Adhesion promoter, ground coat, and then Metalcast blue (they only have one blue color). I followed the instructions in the writeup that is somewhere on this site. Check the HOW-TO Archive thread. Thanks for the comments guys.

I just couldn't get good interior shots. Either it is too dark and the flash messes everything up, or the sun light drains it out in the picture. It's more noticeable if you see the real thing. It matches nicely with my shift knob. I can't picture any other color looking nice. I do not like the colorful interior looks. I think it looks a bit cheap.

You interior looks sweet. I did my vents the same color silver and I agree that yes it does blend in but that's what's awesome. You have a custom job that looks factory . Engine bay looks sexy too.

Thanks guys, but I demand more comments! Sometimes I like the new engine bay and other times I think it looks a little incomplete. All the wires and the duratec being ugly in general doesn't help either.
